Wonder Women Bursting onto the Scene: Feisty Females Rise to Fame
Lately the music scene - especially indie, acoustic, folk and rock genres - has been exploding with female musicians, young and talented ones at that. So what’s with the sudden influx of these determined women and their daring lyrics, catchy guitar riffs and attention-grabbing personas? Could they have been inspired by the likes of the iconic women musicians of today and the immediate past, such as Bjork, Jewel, Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow or even Gwen Stefani, Shirley Manson, Alanis Morisette and Janis Joplin
So many talented women have graced stages just over the past few decades and have been major contributors to the music scene as early as the 1960s. Now that women are really starting to come into their own on the scene with more musical freedom and independence then ever before, the bar keeps getting higher and these young artists continue to meet the challenges and impress audiences worldwide.
